Professional Experience

Daniel Conway provides public relations and advocacy services to a variety of clients at KP Public Affairs. He has worked on issues in the areas of land use, tribal gaming, health care and transportation. Mr. Conway provides management and consulting services in the areas of strategic communications, issue management and coalition building.

In 2007, Mr. Conway managed the California Small Business Health Care Coalition, a statewide, grassroots campaign on behalf of 400,000 small businesses concerned with the health care proposals presented in California legislature. His background includes campaign management, media relations, direct mail production, and opposition research working on statewide, legislative, and local campaigns.

Prior to joining KP Public Affairs, Mr. Conway worked for a political consultant in Sacramento. During the 2005 special election, Mr. Conway conducted in-depth opposition research and served as media liaison to selected publications as part of a successful effort to defeat several ballot initiatives. In 2006, he coordinated the day-to-day activities of a high-profile ballot measure in Sacramento.

In addition, Mr. Conway has served as a staff writer for the California Democratic Party, where he wrote about business and economic issues. Before coming to Sacramento, Mr. Conway served in Americorps in Santa Barbara working as a teachers’ aide in a public middle school.

Education

Mr. Conway double majored in Political Science and History at the University of California, Santa Barbara where he graduated with Honors.
