Professional Experience

Molly Isbell began working for KP Public Affairs in May 2010, providing support for both the advocacy and public relations divisions. Ms. Isbell has worked with a variety of clients to promote awareness and education in the areas of renewable energy, driving safety, economic issues, proactive health initiatives and financial literacy. Ms. Isbell currently provides public relations strategy research, development, and implementation.

Ms. Isbell has extensive experience in authorship, editing, and client rapport-building, which has enhanced KP’s public relations offerings. Her timely abilities to perform substantial research, acquire issue expertise, and generate superior technical and persuasive content for government, corporate, and small business clients has allowed Ms. Isbell to take a leading role as a materials developer and team editor.

Ms. Isbell’s recent work with renewable energy companies has expanded her expertise to include statewide outreach and public communications services. She has assisted clients with multiple siting projects in central and southern California – a hot bed for solar development and NIMBY opposition. Given California’s history with setting environmental precedents and the state’s complex siting processes, notably CEQA/NEPA policies and procedures, the scrutiny of these developments has been severe. Consistent, tactical messaging , audience-tailored materials, and outreach to communities, as well as to key stakeholders, business groups, and local elected officials, has proven essential to enhancing clients’ reputations and differentiating those companies from hundreds of competitors. Furthermore, engaging, reeducating, activating, and coordinating various groups and influential community members to support projects through letters of support and public testimony, has allowed for smoother and, at times, expedited permitting processes.

Education

Ms. Isbell graduated Summa Cum Laude with Distinction from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies.

While attending Sonoma State, Ms. Isbell acted as a liaison between the nationally recognized Hutchins Liberal Studies program and the English Department through the University Writing Center. Ms. Isbell’s senior thesis project included extensive polling of the students in her major to identify course components that proved beneficial to students and those that deterred progress; the results have been used to further shape the program’s structure. Due to her extensive engagement and dedication to both the major and her peers, Ms. Isbell was awarded Distinction upon graduation.

For her academic achievements, Ms. Isbell twice received the Jacqueline Strain Scholarship, the Jessica Anastasia Liparini Scholarship, and was a finalist for the Ambrose Nichols Junior Scholarship—the most prestigious award available to Sonoma State students.
