Professional Experience

Shaudi Falamaki Fulp joined KP Public Affairs in 2006, where she provides strategic counsel and advocacy services on a broad range of issues before the California Legislature, Governor’s Administration, and various state agencies and commissions.

Mrs. Falamaki Fulp represents clients with interests in transportation, trade, land use/development, renewable energy, environmental, and tax policies. Her experience encompasses a diverse panoply of political negotiations, including the development and implementation of the 2006 transportation infrastructure and housing bonds, Homeland Security grant allocations, and Governor Schwarzenegger's Goods Movement Action Plan and Strategic Growth Plan. After only a year in the lobbying industry, Mrs. Falamaki Fulp was voted one of the Capitol community's "Up and Comers" by Capitol Weekly.

Prior to joining the lobbying corps, Mrs. Falamaki Fulp was a political correspondent based in California. Her career in television news includes reporting and producing for Bay-Area based stations KTVU (Fox), KABC (ABC), KPIX (CBS), and CNN's Larry King Live. Her reports on the 2003 Gubernatorial Recall Election and Arnold Schwarzenegger's governorship were broadcast on Los Angeles' Fox-11 (KTTV), CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight and CBS Nightly News. A sports enthusiast, she also co-hosted a weekly Fox Sports Net show focused on college football and basketball, while a student at UC-Berkeley.

Education

Mrs. Falamaki Fulp graduated with honors from the University of California-Berkeley where she earned a double major in Political Science and Legal Studies in three years. She also served as one of the University’s twenty Senators for the Associated Students of the University of California. Her senior thesis entitled, “Media Coverage of United States Presidential Elections from the 1940s-Present: How Television Changed the Way We View Politics” received the highest marks from her thesis advisory board.

She is also a graduate of the City of Sacramento’s Planning Academy, a program in which City staff and local planning professionals provide insight on a broad spectrum of issues, such as General Plan processes, sustainable development, and best practices in community involvement.

Professional memberships and Activities

Mrs. Falamaki Fulp is an active member of the UC-Berkeley Alumni Association, serving on various scholarship committees and as a guest lecturer at her alma mater. In addition, she volunteers her time at local high schools through the Junior Achievement, Women in Government, and Capitol Focus where she guest lectures and mentors students in politics and economics.

She is also a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a nonprofit research and education organization related to land use development, where she sits on the “Young Leaders” Subcommittee and serves as Programs Co-Chair for the broader district ULI.

She and her husband live in Sacramento, California.
